This is a GREAT Christian Handbook that you will never regret having on your bookshelf readily available for yourself or others.
I have read many, many of Joyce Meyer’s books over the years and this is one of the best ones to hang on to. The next time you need a big dose of encouragement and some wisdom, it will be there for you. (It is fast becoming my go to “bad day” book choice.)
I highlighted a lot of pages but, here’s a GOOD excerpt:
“Choosing to be content is something we learn. I wasted many years being discontent and upset. Thankfully I finally realized that I wasn’t making anything better but I was making myself miserable. Even Paul said in Philippians 4:11, that he had “learned” how to be content.
I wanted to learn to love and enjoy the life Jesus came to give me, and I got to the point I wanted it so badly that I was willing to do whatever it took. I wanted to be a peace no matter what was going on around me. Do you want the same thing?
If so, begin by saying:
God, I desire Your contentment and Your joy so much that I am willing to let go of my old attitudes and mind-sets. I want to love my life with You no matter what season I am in. I trust that you are teaching me and developing my character in this season.”
