A former captain in British military intelligence, Kate Beckinsale does just that as she travels to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, (DRC), a country in violent turmoil. She sees a news cast of the riots in the DRC and observes a white man in an orange cap with brown hair and believes this is her late husband. She travels to the DRC and finds everyone there telling her to leave and go back home. Tenacity, stubbornness, and a great deal of courage drive her into the Congolese jungle where there is no law except a barking AK-47 rifle. She is robbed at gunpoint, almost kidnapped and raped, shot at repeatedly, and is forced into killing a man. High adventure and extreme danger await her every turn, as well as minute clues to the location of her estranged husband. This mini-series is very dramatic with lots of twists and turns. Deception is the name of the game and she doesn’t understand why.

This is a dramatic mystery which leads the viewer down one trail only to learn that your understanding is all wrong. The person you thought was a good guy turns out to be really bad. My attention was riveted to the screen. I didn’t want to miss a single moment in this tale of a strong woman looking for her long lost love, despite hardship and danger.
